I am cranky!

AND I’ve recently been told that I am more talented at it than most people. For some reason, I find humor in this, even if it is true.

After my baby socks, I haven’t finished the baby hat that I started, but instead made two ragland baby quilts. Pictures to come later, but I think they turned out well. I dropped one off at the pharmacy, and was glad that the girl I made it for wasn’t there because I suddenly became very shy. I left it there with a note. She’ll get it Saturday. I was so worried she would have her baby before I could finish a gift, and I really wanted to get her something. It was just nice that she could say my last name, and remember the boys names with out prompting.

The Beagles

I was asked about the beagles on the top of the page. The one on the left, the smaller one, is my beagle Lazlo. He’s so naughty, it’s not even funny. We’re working on it, tho. The other beagle is Kirby. He was the beagle that made me want a beagle. He’s about 3 years old and rescue. I just loved how they were looking at each other in that pic.

Camping and baby socks

Knitting, I finally have one knitting picture. These are socks that I knitted for my pharmacist. I’m sure this will sound odd, but she’s so nice, and she knows my last name without looking, which is a huge deal in itself, but she always… always .. asks about my boys by first names, too. So, I knit the socks at the camp out this week-end. I’ve just started a lil beanie hat to go with them. They are more toddler size than baby size. I’m real pleased with how they turned out.

Speaking of camping, the boys had their first official camp out as Boy Scouts. They were sooo excited to be going. The boys set up by themselves, and did well.  I thought they did well. I HAD to take a picture of them doing dishes for the camp! 30 people in all which I thought was a lot to start off with. The youngest jumped right in and helped each time. The picture of them doing dishes is the oldest and the youngest working together! YAY! Also, a picture of the new scouts dish pan hands. Very cute!

The family outing was golf. I was suprised at how excited the boys were, not only mine, but all of them. So, included are pictures of my boys messing around on the course. I had no idea that driving golf carts could make you feel so yucky and motion sick, but it was fun.

The did a service project, clearing some brush away from a fence line. They came back so tired, and hot, and worn out.

I think this week-end was great, and the rain even held off.

Spring Break

Here are a few pictures from spring break. The first is from Longhorn Cavern State Park. I think the boys had fun. This cave was really interesting.

Next is a picture of the youngest after getting his face painted at a Spurs game in San Antonio,  I love this picture.

The next two were of the boys at the beach in Galveston. We drove to Galveston to go to Schlitterbahn to find out that it was closed, but the boys were great and we went to the Gulf instead.

There is a picture of Nathan getting his Arrow of Light from Cub Scouts and getting ready to move on to Boy Scouts. We have our first camping trip this week-end, and then I guess they will be his camping trips from then on out.

Last is a bluebonnet from Burnet County. I thought it was pretty.

SP 10 Questions

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?

It’s all about soft! I love soft. Then it’s colors. That’s how I pick yarn.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?

It varies. Sometimes they are confined in a container and other times they aren’t. I have a couple of nice storage systems, but I’m not always that organized.

3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?

I have been knitting since 05. I saw the book Stitch and Bitch and fell over at the name. My gf laughed and said, “I knit.” To which I replied, “I NEED to.”  Which led me to a yarn store that afternoon, and said, “I want to knit now, and I don’t want to wait for a class. Teach me PLEASEEEE.” I didn’t leave til I knew how to do it.

Well, today is the last day trip for Spring Break. So far that boys say it has been a success. We are off to Schlitterbahn’s indoor WasserFest. I hope it’s fun. I’m REALLY looking forward to lounging around in the water. Taking it easy!

Here’s to a long drive.
