Shoes and basketball

Well, the youngest has started basketball, and he needs new shoes. So, this morning he asks me, “Mom, where are we getting my basketball shoes? I think we should go to academy because they have basketball shoes and regular shoes. I want some Michael Jacksons.” To which I respond, “Michael Jordans?” “Yeah those, whose he?”

Moving along

I’m slowly moving along on my shawl. I think I will be done with it by this week-end, and this makes me very happy. I need a finished object, and the colors are bright. It will be fun to wear in the winter when it’s so blah.  Speaking of blah, I’m still not over this funk. Winter is going to be very long. Sorry my posts haven’t been all that interesting or fun to read lately.

The Holidays

I am through the first ball of yarn on my shawl. Three more to go. The joy of knitting on size 15 needles after knitting on 1’s for a while. I’m still loving socks, tho, as slow as they are knitting up.

I have plans for the holidays. The whole family is meeting at my cousins, something to the number of lets say a little more then 25. I am so thankful this year that it is not at my house. I’ve been in a funk about the holidays, and in order to try to get out of it, I am going to spend the morning cooking food for the homeless to be taken and passed out downtown. I hope this will help me put this into perspective.

Today, I knit

Now, I know that normally that wouldn’t seem odd for a knitting blog, but things have been so crazy. It required a trip to San Antonio, but it was so worth the drive to sit at my Granny’s house, and knit on her couch. I finished half a sock, and started a mystery yarn shawl for me. I needed a day like today. Also, another thing I love about San Antonio, the fruiteria’s ….  here are some pictures.

I don’t know what it is about eating fruit off a lil pointy wooden stick that makes it taste so good, but it does. AND watermelon with salt, lime, a chili`…. Yum.

Today, was a good day. Maybe the blah is going away.

The package my SP sent me was PINK, and it was awesome. The sock yarn reminds me of Strawberry Shortcake, which I love, and still own my original dolls! I love strawberry shortcake.  There was a pink water bottle filled with PINK m&m’s. The kids were in awe of that. I still have to bring pictures, but I wanted to say Thank you properly.

I’m still feeling the funk, and the weathers not helping.
